Our story began when our founder, Mike Heiderscheid, entered the roofing industry as an installer. Over the years, he learned every aspect of the trade, how to build, repair, and maintain roofs that withstand Minnesota’s toughest conditions. That hands-on experience shaped our philosophy: real craftsmanship comes from people who understand the work from the ground up.
What started as residential work under Your House Doctor evolved into a full-scale commercial division, MD Heiderscheid Construction, focused entirely on exterior envelope systems for large buildings. Our team specializes in commercial roofing, flat roofing, metal fabrication, and property maintenance for clients who expect long-term reliability, not short-term fixes.
Unlike many contractors, we don’t just sell roofing systems; we design, fabricate, and install them ourselves. We even operate our own metal fabrication shop, Roof Panels Plus, which allows us to custom-build every flashing, panel, and trim piece to fit your exact specifications. This gives us complete control over quality, timing, and precision on every project.
